Cookie notice

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us recognise your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you use our Services. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage.

2. Cookies we use

2.1 Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. You cannot opt out of these.

  • Session / Auth: Maintains your login state across page navigations. (Provider: Supabase)
  • CSRF Token: Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Cookie Consent: Remembers your cookie preference so we don’t ask again.

2.2 Preference cookies

These remember your choices to provide a personalised experience.

  • Theme preference (light / dark mode)
  • Language selection
  • Accessibility settings (reduced motion)

2.3 Analytics cookies

These help us understand how visitors interact with our website. All data is aggregated and anonymised where possible.

We use these only if you choose “Accept All”. When you are signed in, Analytics must also be on in Consent Settings. PostHog never records your screen and never captures the text you type or read.

  • PostHog: Product analytics — page views, feature usage, funnels.

2.4 Marketing cookies

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them in the future, we will obtain your explicit consent first.

2.5 Services that don’t set cookies

These services receive some technical data when you use the website, but don’t store anything on your device:

  • Sentry: error reports when something breaks, and performance timings (how quickly pages load and respond). Your browser sends timings for about 1 in 10 page views; our servers also time a share of page requests, and time sign-in, sign-up, onboarding, invite, checkout and shared-room pages more often. Each report has the page address (with invite links and sign-in codes removed), your browser and the error or timing details.

3. Managing cookies

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:

You can change your choice at any time in your cookie settings at the top of this page. The Cookie settings link in the site footer opens them too.

4. Third-party SDKs and device storage (mobile app)

Our mobile application uses device storage and third-party SDKs that operate similarly to cookies:

  • Supabase: Session tokens and auth state.
  • Sentry: Crash reports and error tracking.
  • LiveKit: Video/audio room session data.
  • Apple / Google Sign-In: Authentication tokens.

Each SDK manages its own storage according to its privacy policy. You can clear all local data by signing out or uninstalling the app.

5. Changes to this notice

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the cookie banner or email. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when this notice was last revised.
