Help & support

Quick answers about pairing, your shared space, Couple Premium and your account.

Getting started

How do I pair with my partner?
Open the Couple space and send your partner an invite link. When they open it and accept, you're paired and your private space for two is ready. Each of you can be paired with only one partner at a time.

How does your shared room work?
Your shared room is a private live-audio space just for the two of you. Open it from the Couple tab to spend time together — talk with live audio, share your presence, and mute yourself or leave whenever you like.
What are streaks?
Streaks track how consistently you and your partner show up in your shared space together. They're meant to be encouraging, not stressful — if you need a break, you can freeze a streak for up to 14 days without losing your progress.
What is the AI companion?
The AI Companion, Atlas, is a companion for your relationship. Open the Companion tab to start a conversation, reflect together, or get a gentle idea for the two of you. Atlas remembers your past conversations, so it can pick up where you left off.
Why isn't the AI companion available where I am?
New laws in New York and Colorado that start on January 1, 2027 set age-check rules for AI companions, and AltScape doesn't offer that kind of age check yet. So from December 31, 2026, the AI companion and the daily check-in are turned off while you use AltScape from either state. We estimate your state from your internet connection (your IP address), so it can sometimes be wrong. Your memories and check-ins are kept, and everything else in AltScape works as usual. Can I use AltScape offline?
Not yet. Offline use is coming with our iOS and Android apps. The website needs an internet connection.

Couple Premium and billing

What is Couple Premium and how much does it cost?
Couple Premium is our subscription for couples. It's US$11.99 per month or US$59.99 per year, and new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial. One subscription covers both partners, so only one of you needs to subscribe, and you'll both enjoy Premium together in your shared space.

How do I manage or cancel Couple Premium?
You can cancel any time. If you subscribed on the web, open Couple and choose Cancel subscription (only the partner who subscribed can do this). If you subscribed in our Android app, cancel in your Google Play subscription settings (App Store settings once our iOS app is out). Premium stays on until the end of the period you've already paid for; partial periods aren't refunded. Can't sign in? Email support@altscape.ai from your account's email address and we'll cancel your web subscription within one business day.

Privacy and safety

What happens if I tell the companion I'm thinking about suicide or self-harm?
In the companion and in the daily check-in, you're talking to an AI, not a human, and it can't replace a trained person or a professional. Every message you send there is checked for signs of suicide or self-harm, including eating-disorder harm: first against a list of crisis phrases and then, if those find nothing, by a multilingual safety classifier. If either finds a sign, AltScape shows crisis support lines for your country right away. In the US, call or text 988 (the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or chat at 988lifeline.org. If we don't list a line for your country, we point you to findahelpline.com. The AI is told to reply with care, to say plainly that it is an AI, never to give a method or encouragement, and to urge you to reach a trained person now. Every reply also goes through safety checks, and a reply that encourages or describes self-harm is withdrawn and replaced. If you're in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
How do I control my privacy?
Your space is private to you and your partner by default. In Settings you can manage what you share, and you can block or report from the Couple and Messages screens if you ever need to. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

How do I report harmful content?
In Messages, choose Report on any message from your partner. To report your partner, choose Report on their card in Couple. For urgent safety concerns, email trust@altscape.ai.

What is the difference between blocking and muting?
Blocking stops someone from sending you messages or reaching you in your shared space. Muting only silences their notifications while keeping things otherwise unchanged. You can review and undo blocks at any time in Safety → Blocked people.

Is my data secure?
AltScape encrypts your data in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), enforces row-level security in our database, and applies strict access controls. End-to-end encryption is on our roadmap. See our Security page for our vulnerability disclosure policy.

How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings and choose Delete account (in our upcoming iOS and Android apps: Profile → Settings → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and can't be cancelled: you're signed out everywhere and your profile is anonymised right away, and the rest of your data is erased about 30 days later. If you can't sign in, email privacy@altscape.ai from your account's email address.
